A HUGE congratulations to Yunus & Eliza who have won ELLE’s first Talent Launchpad. The 6 winners that also included Holly Fulton, Eudon Choi and Irwin and Jordan were announced this morning. As part of winning this award, Kabiri has teamed up with ELLE and The British Fashion Council to give Yunus & Eliza support and continued commitment to raising the profile of these designers.
Yunus Ascott and Eliza Higginbottom met casting precious metals in 2007. It did not take them long to discover they spoke a similar language, and they started collaborating immediately. All pieces are designed and created by Yunus and Eliza in London. The jewellery collections are hand made through every step of the process ensuring that each piece is unique and a labour of love. Drawing on a foundation of fine art, classical sculpture and restoration, the jewellery designers employ the ancient lost wax process and centrifugal casting methods. Traditional techniques developed through experience, ensure a striking level of detail. The materials used in the Unsung Heroes collection are solid silver and bronze. The silver pieces are all hallmarked. Yunus and Eliza believe sculpture should be worn and not left on the shelf.
